A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Two bits of Star Wars fandom for you to enjoy today.

First up is Stitch Wars, “A group art exhibition featuring amazing handmade goods inspired by the most fabulous space fantasy ever made” being held in South Florida. They have a blog and a Flickr page » (via Popped Culture).

Next is what is, believe it or not, an even bigger tribute:  Star Wars Uncut is a project being run by Casey Pugh, who has taken Episode IV and broken it down into fifteen-second clips. He then posted the clips and asked users to “claim” them by creating their own replacement clip. That’s done, so now he’s stitching them all together into a single movie, and also working on a way to have multiple clips for the same scene so people can vote for their favourites. Here’s a couple of the “finished” scenes to give you an idea of what we’re looking at, and here’s his blog » (via Wired).
