My dad, who is retiring later this year, just earned his black belt in karate.
He started when he was 41 years old, picking it up when my younger sister and brother did it as kids. Both of them quit, as did I shortly after I started a few years later.
But he kept it up, eventually taking on running the club and training with senseis remotely.
It’s taken a lot of time and discipline, but it’s paid off.
It’s never too late to do something new. I’m glad I have a good role model.
